And should not be cut.

I haven’t watched the second ep of Line Up yet and now I’ll probably be putting it off even more because of the lack of showtime (once again) Changmin gets.

Honestly, I didn’t enjoy the first ep very much. I’d never watched Line Up before so I guess I didn’t have a real feel of the show nor did I fully understand what the show is about…actually I once watched a Line Up cut featuring SuJu which was funny…so I think that’s why I was even more disappointed when I watched it with DBSK.

So why did I not really enjoy it? The ‘activities’ or components of this show don’t really flow! Like, the counselling section is quite original but the punishment that the teams get if they’re advice isn’t good enough actually made me cringe as opposed to laugh. Having a clip/peg pulled off one’s ear is painful I can assure, let alone to have it pulled off via a string while in the hands of a DBSK member. Not saying that DBSK are violent but they’re not weak. Maybe it looked more painful than it really was….but…no.

Yoochun’s story was quite amusing but they cut out Junsu and Changmin’s bit so that’s another 10 points gone. And it wasn’t even as if Junsu’s and Changmin’s problem weren’t worth watching. Coz it was! Perhaps if Changmin had brought on the issue of constantly getting cut off shows then they would’ve given him some more air time.

Which makes me think of something else.
Yesung.
(Oops. I should’ve said ’someone’ else…hahaha.)

So Yesung’s problem was that he felt he was the most unpopular out of SuJu and not getting the attention he deserves. What happened after that? All the cameras started going his direction and the rest of SuJu were also frantically trying to promote him. Which was sweet. Except I didn’t actually think that was a problem to begin with since being in a group of 13 is really hard so if one gets less of the spotlight than the other it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re unpopular. But Changmin’s problem has kinda been obvious from the start.

Once upon a time when I used to post on forums (I still do….just not as often) there would always be lil popularity contests and who would always come last? My lovely Changmin. Of course I am generalising here but the fact that there are even those stupid polls or whatever is ridiculous. So when they came out with rankings from countries other than Korea and Changmin was noted to be no.1 of the five in Japan I was ecstatic.
But then when his TRICK single was released and he came 20th while the other members have been able to secure a top 10 spot, that worried me.

Don’t get me wrong. I am very happy for the others to have done so well but I can’t help but feel a little sad for Changmin since I’m sure he works just as hard. Which was why I hated this whole idea from the start. Apart from making me having to crawl back to work in order to earn money for these singles it is, indirectly, a scheme to find who’s most popular. Though I am sure I am/was looking into this a little too much.

Okay I got really carried away.

Um, where was I?

Oh yeah. So in the preview for the second ep of Line Up I actually saw Changmin so I was full pumped to watch it. But then I read that once again he got very little airtime. I guess I’ll have to watch for myself to see whether its adequate or not but my incentive to do so kinda flew out the window.

….

I sound like an angry child don’t I?
Well I’m not. I’m perfectly pleasant :D
But studying drives one insane every now and then. And this is just my way of releasing my anger…*smiles*

Changmin’s not an attention-whore like Yesung is (at times), so the fact that he doesn’t do stupid things to get himself on camera makes me want to extol his virtues all the more. Really, towards the end of EHB, I was getting so fed up with Yesung’s antics that I’d fastforward my way through his parts, like the good fangirl I am. ^^

I’m not sure why there’s such a lack of love for Changmin, but I can only guess that on the excitement scale, he doesn’t rank very high.

We all know that Yunho’s the leader, so to shaft him would cause an outcry. Plus, he’s super competitive, so to not capture his competitiveness on camera would not bode well with much of the audience.

Jaejoong, we all know, is QUITE the attention-whore. He’s always putting his foot into his mouth, thus generating LOADS of laughs that way. And he’s popular, so no, the PDs can’t shaft him, because fangirls everywhere would unite in their hatred for PDs who Shaft Jaejoong (PDSF for short).

Junsu is adorable on camera – he’s the cutie of the group. Plus, he’s so much like a little boy, he’s practically considered the baby of DBSK, nevermind the difference between him and Changmin in terms of age.

I have nothing to say about Micky, because he’s just not as exciting as Changmin, in my mind, and SO, should not be shafted as much as CM is.

I really see no reason to ignore Changmin on camera, because he’s really the wittiest of the group. There’re moments when he’s quiet, but I absolutely LOVE his expressions during those instances, so even when he’s being quiet, he’s being absolutely HILARIOUS. That’s why, I like it when they split the boys up, with two of the group going to said show, and three of the group going to another show. For example, when they shot Miraculous Victory and Defeat (or whatever it’s called :P), Changmin got SO MUCH AIRTIME. The PD LOVED to capture his laughs on camera, and omigahhhh, he and Tiffany were TOO CUTE.

Basically, the point of this comment is that I completely understand your anger, because there ISN’T A GOOD REASON for cutting him out. But the fact that he doesn’t complain and doesn’t try to draw all the attention his way makes me admire him all the more. And as this definitely isn’t a virtue you see in many celebrities of that caliber today, Changmin is SO deserving all the attention I shall be HEAPING on him in the future. :)

GAH. WHAT I MEANT TO SAY:

I have nothing to say about Micky, because he’s just not as exciting as Changmin, in my mind, and SO, SHOULD BE shafted as much as CM is. But I think he isn’t as prominent on camera as the other three anyhow, so he pratically IS as shafted as Changmin. Micky, does however, make hilarious faces, especially when he’s completely shocked. XD

YAY AN ESSAY + PARAGRAPH!!! *hops around excitedly*

See I think the thing with not cutting Yoochun is because ‘he has a variety show image’ Remember in their lil hidden camera how they attempted to push Changmin into being the regular guest because Changmin ‘didn’t have a variety show image’ and Changmin kinda shrugged his shoulders and WAS TAPPING HIS FEET!!!!!! I guess Changmin has gotten used to it that it doesn’t even affect him :(

But yes I agree! Yesung was being the biggest attention/camera whore in ep9! I’m sure if he stopped with all the jumping the PDs may have considered filling the time in with Changmin’s jump O_O

I’ve seen screencaps from MV&D so I’m really looking fwd to that :D
I saw one where Changmin is laughing really hard then the nxt one he had his head thrown back and in the next one he’d fallen down hahahaha…

    Heeeheeeeeheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I don’t know what that was for.

Anyway. I like Changmin. I think he’s interesting. And I agree with Playmeagain I got SO sick of Yesung’s camwhoring in EHB. The first few times, it was cute, then, it was just plain annoying =.=

Playmeagain wrote you a little essay about the reason why the members get screentime, I shall attempt to write one too ^—-^ (Because I’m at school, and I have nothing to do)

Yunho – He just oozes of Charmisma. And he’s really good at game shows/talk shows/tv shows in general. His competitiveness MAKES the shows. And, he’s the only one in DBSK who gets called out to dance, so they gotta show it. (Althought I’m pretty sure that the other 4 can dance too)

Jae – He is SO AWESOME at Korean variety shows. I know that when DBSK first debuted, Jae and Changmin were unpopular together. But, I think that his dorky personality has really helped him gain lots of fans. He should thank the PDs for that. See, if Changmin got enough screentime, his popularity would go just as high :D

Junsu – He’s got *the voice*. Yes, I’m aware that all 5 can sing. But Junsu’s voice just has that extra something something, you know? Hee. And he’s so CUUUUTE on Japanese variety shows, to not show him would be a crime.

Micky – I have to agree with Playmeagain on this one. Personally, Micky doesn’t stand out for me. He’s just….there, you know? Yes, he makes great expressions, and I really do love him, but…idk, I think Changmin’s comments are more interesting XD [except, I think that Micky's the most popular in Korea]

I was going to attempt an analysis for the Suju boys’ screentime, but, I should probably end this, as it’s already much too long. It’s really funny, I’m at school, and all around me, are these really studious people typing away, probably writing essays. And I’m also typing away, but I’m commenting boyband blogs. haha.

Wow. What a nice schooling life you have ^^
I’m babysitting my lil sis atm and shes CRAWLING AROUND EVERYWHERE! So I figured its easier to babysit and blog then to babysit and study ^^

Yeah I remember about Jae and Changmin though I still refuse to believe about the whole no fan in their line thing…coz that is plain sad.

I think with Yoochun is that he has the ‘pretty boy image’ so without him, the fans have got nothing to look at. But that’s a lie.

And I think your essay is ine…compared to all those studious people who refer to txtbooks, I think this allows you to express yourself more ^^

But I’m saying that to make myself feel better coz I’m doing the exact same thing. Except I did finish my eco essay. Problem is I have to cut it down so I can actually write it within the exam time.

    Boo.
