The Next Dawn

July 5, 2008

I got a few new albums recently (coz my mummy is back from HK!!!!) and surprisingly they’re all CHINESE! *gasp* Lol. And it has practically been a decade since my hi-fi had only chinese CDs in it and theres space for 3 discs, lol! Actually the main reason was because I was unwilling to take Don’t Don out. This is reeeeeeeeally odd, but I’ve had my Don’t Don CD in there ever since I bought it. So that means…over 7 mths O.o

Anyways, the first album I’m going to review is Claire Kuo’s (郭靜)- The Next Dawn. This is her second album and I haven’t heard her first one so I guess I’m probably in no position to judge her or compare…but I’ll do so anyway ;)

Sherman Chung - 請你合作MV

May 9, 2008

Sherman Chung’s new song - ‘Please cooperate’; featuring Kenny Kwan in the MV

{credit: 6DingDong @ Youtube}

I don’t even know how I randomly came across this MV, but I wanted to hear her song so I decided to watch it. The song isn’t anything too exciting unfortunately, though that may be because there were no lyrics and I was too busy waiting for Kenny to kiss her…but it’s probably one that will grow on me? The MV itself was…kinda weird, actually. People left comments saying the kiss was weird and it really was!! Kenny is actually a pretty good kisser, as I have seen previously in his 眼紅館MV released back when Boy’Z still existed. The kiss was HOT, okay? lol so I assume he’s good. But something went WRONG in this one. Either Sherman can’t act, she couldn’t decide whether she wanted the kiss or not, OR the two have absolutely no chemistry.

L for Love, L for Lies

April 17, 2008

Doesn’t the title itself sound interesting already?

Well the movie is GREAT. I have not seen a Chinese movie that I have enjoyed this much for oh so long. For too long, actually.

I’m not exactly sure what about the movie makes me enjoy it so much - perhaps the simplicity in its plot, yet, it manages to incorporate all these twists to join three different love stories altogether.

However watching movies like these always give me the chills and make me scared to date and get married. Why? BECAUSE EVERYONE CHEATS ON ONE ANOTHER. No joke. NO ONE IS FAITHFUL TO THEIR PARTNER.

BUT STILL, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE and I shall buy it on DVD when it comes out.

I really have the urge to type out exactly what happens in the movie so that I can come back and read and remember and cry again…but that’s way too sad. And I’m not a sad person…or am I? xP

I’m like on an Alex Fong x Stephy high atm. It always happens everytime I do something exciting. I can’t stop thinking about it until the next exciting thing happens…LOL, okay I’m sad.

But seriously, if you’re deciding whether to watch this movie or not JUST GO WATCH IT. I walked into the cinema knowing only who the two main characters were; I didn’t even know the title of the movie BUAHAHAHA So at first I was kicking the chair in front of me in frustration…but by the end of it everything makes sense. IT ALL JUST COMES TOGETHER SO NICELY :DDDDD

And I shall stop abusing my caps lock ^^

c u in my dream

April 16, 2008
Every night I cry myself to sleeping
All because you ain’t here by my side
There’s a missing part of me
And that missing part is you
So I make-believe that you were here
.
This whole song is all that’s left of you babe
Wish that you could be here in July
I can hardly breathe my baby
Sucked the life out of me
Give me one more try
.
I can barely breathe my baby
Sucked the life out of me
I’ll just see you in my dream

Another one of my Cpop loves is Justin Lo. A talented artist who composes and writes some of his music as well as for other artists including Leo Ku.

After only having released one album, Justin held his first concert One Good Show and has even come to Sydney Australia twice for his concerts. Yep, Justin is awesome <3

Anyways, I’m not too good at pimping my Cpop artists (LOL) but I really wanted to post this song - [c u in my dream]. I guess I’m recommending this song because the sky today is a really depressing grey and IM FEELING EMO.

So, why not all be emo together !? :D

It’s in english so there should be no excuses for not having downloaded it to give it a try :P The song is no longer than two minutes as well and is simply the outro of his third album JTV. Justin composed, wrote, produced and basically did EVERYTHING for this song and so if you like it then PLEASE FALL IN LOVE WITH JUSTIN :D

Fiona Sit: It’s My Day

Finally, Fiona Sit’s newest album is out for Preorder :)

Movies

Being the good fan that I am, I own all her cds (except for the repackaged ones) and I have seen all her movies and dramas except for those which came out recently…because Kpop fandom has taken over my whole life. I didn’t even know of this CD til my friend told me, *shame*. So I guess I’m not that much of a good fan :(

Anyways, with Fiona…hmm…how shall I say this…I’m more a fan of her music and talent than her personality. She’s an artist (not only a singer but also a painter) and usually in her albums she’ll provide some of her artworks…which are absolutely gorgeous. But in terms of her personality, sometimes she makes me cringe. I’m not gonna start a bitch fest as to why I can’t possibly stand seeing her on TV or even acting BUT her music, to me, is good enough to have made me a fan. Does that even make sense? Well let’s just say, with Janice I love her wholeheartedly whereas I love Fiona’s music wholeheartedly and only her halfheartedly. AHAHAHA

Okay, now that I’ve got that clear, her new album is coming out April 18th. Even quicker than SJ - Me :D Woot~! I’ll have new music soon (unless my ZLY CD arrives within the next few days…)

For those who are still reading this, Fiona went to an international school and is fluent in English and French (I have a thing for non fluent Chinese HK Singers, don’t I?) but her Chinese, like Janice, has improved immensely since her debut and recently she’s taken on mandarin. But her mando peeves me LOL. Her speaking voice is actually really whiney…IM SORRY!

Anyways, speaking of Fiona has just reminded me that I don’t actually have any of her songs on this computer since my old one crashed last year. Grrr. I guess I’ll have to go burn my CDs onto here…soon. I’ll probs do another music post on Fiona before her new album comes out :D

Oh and here’s a random note: Fiona is pretty close to Khalil Fong who has, in the past, written some songs for her. So yeah…for those who like Khalil and have never heard of Fiona, give her a try.

Although I say her speaking voice is whiney, when it comes to singing she is not bad. For a HK artist, anyway. I guess I find myself often comparing Korean artists to HK. For a while, I was put off Cpop just because “if you have a pretty face, you can be a singer” And that really sucked especially when I started seeing unfamiliar faces on TV with crap voices and crap music. That’s why I’ve stuck with Kpop for so long - they truly rock my socks <3
